Because Francis is a postmodern badger: weak, cowardly, cynical, cruel, self-centered and at the same time victim of the system and fed on all the theories of "personal development". Francis gives up all morality, all ethics, all guilt, as long as he meets his basic needs.
Through Francis, it is the political correctness of our time that is scratched, the good conscience of our bobo era, our new political, economic and social received ideas. Unemployment, ecology, capitalist cynicism, humanitarian aid, blended families, dictatorships, occupational diseases, terrorism, AIDS, psychotherapy,… nothing is spared.
Can we still laugh about everything today?
Yes, answer in chorus Claire Bouilhac and Jake Raynal, the two authors of the comic book which inspired us.
And yes, answers this small theater of puppets and cuddly toys, deceptively naive, genuinely funny and ferocious.
