SOUS LE VOLCAN brings together five beings in search of new forms of cooperation and new imaginaries. Caught in a process of collective transformation, they surrender to the effervescence of an endless dance made of unison and singularity, of fury and tenderness—an ultimate attempt to honor the beauty of the living.
With this new creation, which sets aside individualism and competition in favor of connection, support, and mutual aid, Leslie Mannès invites us into a secret ceremony of repair, rising from the ashes of our fears. What if this “being together” were a way of facing our traumas?
Faithful to her way of creating powerful,
energetic dance that connects people,
Leslie Mannès once again succeeds in blending
choreography, sound, imagery,
costumes, scenography, and lighting
to bring to life a truly unique performance.
(...) A mesmerizing sarabande, both wild and tender.
Le Soir | Jean-Marie Wynants
Voodoo ceremony, sharp-witted adventurers,
rebellious captives...
In an incredible ritual of togetherness
and infinite movement,
Leslie Mannès and her four high-flying
Sisyphuses delivered a lesson
in contagious energy and resilience
in the face of adversity.
Doing, redoing, inventing, transforming...
and rising from the ashes.
Impeccable in its message
and a breath of fresh air.
Le Charabiart | Delphine Michelangeli
