Timber: Back to Mother Nature

The images, more powerful than words, invite deep reflection. Far from being demonstrative, the new show by the Still Life company uses humour, poetic gestures and derision as weapons of conscience. Laughter – often bitter – prevails, but the message remains. Change, however, is still a long time coming.

Oh my god ! We are going to die !

Performed by actors who are clearly enjoying themselves, the play is at once funny, disconcerting and sensitive.

"TIMBER" by Cie Still Life: Nature Will Give It Back to You

Of course, the Still Life Company is far from being the only one in the eco-conscious theater scene, but their gently ironic "revenge porn" has the merit of mocking the prevailing moralism on the subject.

"Timber" at Théâtre les Tanneurs: a stunning visual immersion into the heart of life

In a world where everything seems to be going wrong, Timber offers its own solution—a response filled with dreamlike imagery, fiction, and breathtaking visuals. The power of life strikes us visually in a technically rigorous performance that exposes the complexity of our relationship with the world.

"Timber": a visual performance where humans attempt to reconnect with nature

What happens in the forest stays in the forest—but often takes on the feel of a fairytale. With Timber, the Still Life company presents a modern fable in four acts. A performance without dialogue—a bold and deliberate choice.

Highly anticipated, blending humor and awareness, Timber, the new creation by the Still Life company, invites the audience on a "healthy" walk through the forest. Entirely movement-based and without words...

Within the shifting boundaries of an artistic space that belongs solely to them, Aurelio Mergola and Sophie Linsmaux create performances with highly contemporary themes—shows where not a single word is spoken.
