Venedig Meer | Florence Minder

Deeply human, funny, tragic and heart-warming, Venedig Meer's shows demonstrate that the idea of coherence may apply better to interior design than to life itself.

Founded in 2016, the Belgian company Venedig Meer has been an artistic partner of Théâtre Varia (Brussels) since 2022.

Regularly searching and showinghow the real is produced, co-produced and reproduced, the company is co-directed by:

Florence Minder, author, actress and stage director,

Julien Jaillot, actor director, stage directorand playwright,

Manon Faure, administrative and financial manager.

Alternating between short and long formats, its 5 productions and over 10 collaborative projects are sowing seeds in Belgium (Brussels, Mons, Liège, Leuven, etc.), France (La Bastille, DSN-Dieppe, etc.),Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland (Festival de la Cité, Poche/GVE, etc.) and Scotland (Fringe Festival).

Seeking to identify the collective narratives that shape us yesterday, today and tomorrow, Venedig Meer claims a repertory policy while keeping its shows deeply rooted in reality. Created in 2012, GOOD MOURNING ! VOSTFR returns in 2024 in a reloaded version, recharged with what the world has experienced and understood since then.

Deeply human, funny, tragic and heart-warming, Venedig Meer's shows demonstrate that the idea of coherence may apply better to interior design than to life itself. Venedig Meer defends a regime of imagination (and action) that promotesthe joyful survival of the entire living community, believing that humor and tragedy are complementary and that one cannot do without the other.

In 2017, Télérama described "Saison 1" as a theatrical ritual with a fresh spirit and joyful vitality. In 2018, it was awarded the Prix SACD Théâtre.

In 2020, the press described "Faire quelque chose. (C’est le faire, non?)”as formidable, masterful, flawless, tragic and heart-warming.

In September 2024, Venedig Meer returns withitsnew show "L'invisible n'est pas inexistant".

Stay tuned.
